(Toronto: May 5, 2020) Blue Pier™ is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Murray to the Board of Directors.

The Founder & CEO of SA Murray Consulting Inc. (SAMCI), Susan’s career began at Queen’s Park. Her work on policy matters convinced her of the need for a firm that could broker relationships between governments and the private sector, on a non-partisan, public interest basis. 27 years later, Susan Murray had built one of the most successful government relations firms in the country. Susan is Honorary Director and former Chairman of the Board at the National Ballet School of Canada, a former director of the MS Scientific Research Foundation board and a Director of the Shannon School of Business National Advisory Board at Cape Breton University. Susan has served on volunteer boards too numerous to mention, including as a Director of the Toronto Board of Trade and the Canadian Opera Company. Ms. Murray has served on corporate boards including Irwin Toy, Dover Industries, and Marsh Canada Ltd.

“I am delighted to welcome Susan to the Board,” said Blue Pier board chair Raymond Steele. “We are fortunate to have the benefit of Susan’s impeccable reputation and experience in the public and private sectors in support of Blue Pier’s mission, and we especially value her commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.”

“Having sponsored a pension plan for the employees of my own firm, I understand first-hand both the need for workplace pension plans and the prohibitive difficulties employers face in providing them,” said Susan Murray. “Blue Pier removes those barriers and makes real workplace pensions possible for all employers. I am thrilled to support Blue Pier’s broad-reaching improvement to the quality of retirement life for Canadians. With the stress and uncertainties of dealing with COVID-19, employees need the security of participating in a good pension plan more than ever.”
