Job Posting – Head of Business Development

An exciting opportunity to build the sales practice in an entrepreneurial, high-functioning environment. Serving clients by building and managing client relationships, selling products (from lead to close), identifying and meeting customer needs.

YOU ARE:

  • Deeply experienced (minimum 5 years) in client relationship management over the sales cycle, and a demonstrated successful closer, in the financial services/pensions market
  • Super-skilled in prospecting, negotiation, communication and sales presentations
  • Self-confident and self-motivated to meet and exceed sales/sales activity targets, with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient in MS Powerpoint, Excel and Word; able to develop presentations and basic marketing materials
  • Inspired by an entrepreneurial team environment, where you must apply your skills across a broad spectrum of sales and marketing activities

A DAY IN THE LIFE

A typical day at as a Head of Business Development might include:

  • Establishing new accounts by planning and organizing daily/weekIy/monthly work schedule to contact and manage potential clients, using the CRM system tools
  • Managing content of sales presentations for target client segments over the sales cycle (including working with senior management to ensure sufficient and appropriate marketing/sales support materials)
  • Focusing sales efforts on leads through digital/website sources, referrals and partnerships
  • Informing senior management with regular sales/relationship management activity and results reports, including daily/weekly call reports, weekly and monthly sales analyses, using CRM system tools
  • Supporting monitoring of the market/competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products and client feedback
  • Recommending changes in products, pricing, service and policy by evaluating sales results and competitive developments
  • Supporting senior management in resolving client concerns/complaints in investigating problems and developing solutions
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge related to Blue Pier products, the market generally, and sales practices in Blue Pier’s target markets
